Explore the playful world of mixed-media expressive arts in our Heart Mapping class. Immerse yourself in a unique blend of collage, painting, and expressive techniques using your heart as your compass. This class provides a dynamic space for self-discovery and creative exploration, inviting you to craft a map of your heart that reflects the diverse facets of your personal wisdom help you develop creative problem-solving skills.
Participants will be experiencing the expressive arts process and will be invited to participate in guided meditation, expressive writing, a visual art making. The goal is to create a heart map that helps us creatively problem solve by identifying our strengths, beliefs, values, and goals. Visual art making will be in the form of mixed-media collage and no previous art making experience is needed.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
-Learn expressive arts techniques and approaches to creatively problem solve.
-Practice expressive arts techniques with guidance from instructor.Â
-Identify and develop a deeper connection to the heart through guided heart-centered mediation.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Heather Rose LeCompte, LPC, is an award-winning mixed-media artist, illustrator, storyteller, psychotherapist, career counselor, and workshop facilitator. In her private therapy practice, she often incorporates expressive arts therapy into her work, having received formal training from the Expressive Arts Florida Institute. When she is not at her private practice, Heather can be found in her home art studio, where she enjoys experimenting with various materials to create art that is enchanting, playful, and infused with compassion. Additionally, she is engaged in several writing projects, including guided journals and a picture book.
